  1. great site...tks for the hard work....allow mw a quick story...

In 1965 we moved back to New Jersey after living in Rh0desia for 7 years. My father entered local politics via the Board of Education ina suburban town called Fair Lawn. I went to my first Board of Education meeting sometime around then. I remember a particular discussion amongst the board members concerning the pending purchase of camera and film projection equipment for the 7 elementary schools in that district. The issue was an expenditure of maybe US$ 3,000.00 or so. After the discussion was over the Board president, a Mr. Archibald Aitcheson, reminded the board members and the public commenters that their responsibility as elected officials was "to be parsimonious with the public purse"...spoken only as a responsible Scotsman could and he meant it!! That was the first responsibility because , he opined, without a sense of responsibilty with public and tax payers funds the goal of education could not be attained.

The attitude of public servants could not be more different today. We have learned to vote ourselves entitlement to the public treasury and we will suffer as a result.

Your site is book marked and I will use it as the magnificent resource it is !!

  2. My Question pertains to the two sided sword used by congress on illegal acts by government officials, and punishments compared to those of the same type of crime but done "Joe Public". How is it government crimes fade quickly with no punishment, on the other hand Joe Public commits same crime and it's big news and he is publicly crucified. we are told to do as we are told, not to do as we see. so the learning is one sided also. this creates a creater with mixed emotions, possible mental problems, and sometimes criminal actions. lack of equality can be as bad as lack of education. any way you look at it a monster may be created, one that might come back and kill it's master.

  3. here s a novel idea why doesn't this presidency or past hire dave ramsey or the likes to help with the financial mess our wonderful government has us in to me it only makes sense to use the really good resources we have in our country people that are proven to know how in their proffessional careers fix and improve situations financial or otherwise instead of hiring of hiring known communists etc to consult the most powerful position on earth next to GOD america please wake up!!!!!!!!!

  4. I love that post and the comment, Comment #3 is great. I totally agree with you.
I think we all should live like that.

  5. thanks for this great post and for this useful links, i will sure use it

  6. I am confused by your data about the government health expenditure. The table shows that total government health care expenditure in 2007 was $858.42 billion, federal expenditure was $641.84 billion, state expenditure was $366.41 billion local expenditure was $111.65 billion. That means the sum of expenditure of different levels government supassed the total expenditure. Would you like to tell me the reason? thanks a lot

  7. Biased. Omission of necessary variables when making statements on the negative impact of education. The same goes for welfare assessment. If you don't examine more than two variables, your evaluation of the significance of implementation of certain policies will be inherently flawed. And, as I said, biased.

You've gathered good data. You can do better. There's plenty to criticize in both programs- so get the necessary variables together!

  8. Three recent surveys of Republican primary voters suggest significant divides in support for Ms. Palin based on the educational attainment of

the voter. A poll released this morning by Marist College show Ms. Palin as the first choice of 17 percent of Republicans who have not

graduated from college, giving her a slight lead among that group. But her support is just 7 percent among Republican college graduates,

which placed her fifth behind Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Newt Gingirch and Chris Christie.

  9. Really nice posts. I will be checking back here regularly, I also visit these posts I like, plz visit these posts must:

  10. The Business and Other Revenue figure for Wisconsin in 2000, displayed in millions of dollars, has changed a bit from when I downloaded the information a few days ago. The original figure was $12,417.3 million and today when I accessed the site it showed $12,037.5 million. I also would like to know what taxes are included in determining the Business and Other Revenue for Wisconsin and what was the source of your data.

  12. Government in Ohio.. They spend the Money on what. They surely do not..fix. our streets are damage.. they don't fix all of them.. the yellow divider line on streets need repainting..Houses need fixing up..
What they do do is spend the money on spas..trips buy luxury homes for themselves..
Shut down the Government we are where we are at because of them..
Plus Landlords need to lower rent so we the people can save money..with that lower rent we would have more money for food.. for kids schooling..for medical expenses..ETC.

  13. Pissed Off

Alan Simpson, Senator from Wyoming, Co-Chair of Obama's deficit
commission, calls senior citizens the Greediest Generation as he
compared "Social Security" to a Milk Cow with 310 million teats.
    August, 2010.

Here's a response in a letter from a unknown fellow in Montana...
I think he is a little ticked off! He also tells it like it is !
"Hey Alan, let's get a few things straight..

    1. As a career politician, you have been on the public dole for FIFTY

    2. I have been paying Social Security taxes for 48 YEARS (since I was 15
years old. I am now 63). (Social Security was to be voluntary, it isn't!)

3 My Social Security payments, and those of millions of other
Americans, were safely tucked away in an interest bearing account for
decades until you political pukes decided to raid the account and give
OUR money to a bunch of zero ambition losers in return for votes, thus
bankrupting the system and turning Social Security into a Ponzi scheme
that would have made Bernie Madoff proud.

    4. Recently, just like Lucy & Charlie Brown, you and your ilk pulled the
proverbial football away from millions of American seniors nearing
retirement and moved the goalposts for full retirement from age 65 to
age 67. NOW, you and your shill commission is proposing to move the
    goalposts YET AGAIN.

5 I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying into Medicare
from Day One, and now you morons propose to change the rules of the
game. Why? Because you idiots mismanaged other parts of the economy
to such an extent that you need to steal money from Medicare to pay
    the bills.

    6. I, and millions of other Americans, have been paying income taxes our
entire lives, and now you propose to increase our taxes yet again. Why?
Because you incompetent bastards spent our money so profligately that
you just kept on spending even after you ran out of money. Now, you come
to the American taxpayers and say you need more to pay off YOUR debt.

To add insult to injury, you label us "greedy" for calling "bullshit" on
your incompetence. Well, Captain Bullshit, I have a few questions for

    1. How much money have you earned from the American taxpayers during
    your pathetic 50-year political career?

    2. At what age did you retire from your pathetic political career, and
how much are you receiving in annual retirement benefits from the
    American taxpayers?

    3. How much do you pay for YOUR government provided health insurance?

    4. What cuts in YOUR retirement and healthcare benefits are you
proposing in your disgusting deficit reduction proposal, or, as usual,
have you exempted yourself and your political cronies?

It is you, Captain Bullshit, and your political co-conspirators called
Congress who are the "greedy" ones. It is you and your fellow nutcases
who have bankrupted America and stolen the American dream from
millions of loyal, patriotic taxpayers. And for what? Votes. That's right

sir. You and yours have bankrupted America for the sole purpose of
advancing your pathetic political careers. You know it, we know it, and
you know that we know it.

And you can take that to the bank, you miserable SOB.

  14. This is an absolutely outstanding site, one that fills a need not met by any other. I refer to it regularly. I am concerned however that it doesn't seem to be working today, and I hope that is not a portent for the future. This site is valuable enough I would be willing to contribute to help keep it alive. Please let us know whether that would help.

  15. hate to be the one to call BullShit ... but where did you invent these figures...

    Here is the actual budget.

  16. Good data in terms of raw dollars and % of GDP - however I think the important measure is constant dollars per capita. "% of GDP" gives the government too much cover - the government performs a finite set of functions for a finite number of citizens, thus unless we enter into a new social contract, its budget should increase only with inflation and population growth - and any revenue increase over and above the combination of inflation and population growth should be considered surplus and used to pay down debt. The federal budget was regularly balanced in the 1950s. Since then, per capita revenue in real terms has more than doubled, while per capita spending in real terms has almost tripled. We have a spending problem. A spending problem that is partially offset by growing revenue.

  17. It amazes. Me how government. Gives our money to illegals to set up businesses and give them free health care, yet those that worked were born here and now need help cannot get it. They bitch that medicaid pays out too much, well stop freaking giving it to anyone that wants to just come here. Take care of your own first. Say what you want they only do it to get the election votes. Do your freaking jobs.

  18. why the huge difference in the CBO federal pension figure for 2012 (145 BILLION)VS your 800 billion figure? Heritage foundation concurs with CBO figure????

  19. So why are people going to lose jobs due to obamacare, they should not because if you purchase insurance thru the market place, you will then have ins, and your employer wont have to cut your hours, for they will no longer be required to contribute to your premiums. I dont get it My husbands co. offers insurance to employees and their familys, but at 187.90 a week. not a month a week. that is not affordable, Im talking about for 3 people. so we have been without health ins. for almost 16 years. because we have been priced out of the ins industry, i will be looking for ins. tomorrow, its not that we do not want ins. we do but not at the price we have been quoted. I have even tried to get state help. but we both work and we are white, we dont qualify, I even suggested paying for state ins. again turned down I do not want any health ins. for free just like most people, i am more than willing to pay, but no one has had any answers until now, so why are you trying to take that away from us lower middle class group of people, who dont want charity, we only want the chance to get what everybody else has. I say fire all those asshole politicians who are not doing their jobs, working for me and my family, Quite paying those greedy bastards, and i will bet you you more of what the people want would happen. let them go without ins. living paycheck to paycheck, getting their homes taken from them not eaRNING AS MUCH AS THEY WERE 5,6 YEARS AGO BEFORE THE GREEDY BANKERS RUINED THIS COUNTRY AND EVERYTHING THE u>s>a> STOOD FOR. ANYMORE WERE THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE WORLD BEING SO STUPID AND YET BEING THE WEALTHIEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.
